Last weekend, I photographed a sweet wedding near Mount Mansfield in Underhill, Vt. While the weather wasn’t too cooperative, Emily and Michael celebrated in style with plenty of excellent music played by their friends! Follow this link to see more on my Facebook page.
On Scent
The other day, my neighbor picked me up at 5:30 a.m. to see how our beagle puppy’s littermates are doing in their training. They’re learning to track scent at the Randolph Fish and Game Club’s 20-acre rabbit grounds. My neighbor laughed when I told him our hound was still in bed, under the covers with his head on the pillow!
Alice & Aaron
Alice and Aaron’s wedding and celebration at their friends’ home last weekend in Plainfield, Vt., had many personal touches. Their ceremony was complete with beautiful bell-ringing and lovely readings! Follow this link to see more on my Facebook page.
Famous Alum
Last spring, I did a portrait I did of farmer and friend Chuck Wooster for the May/June issue of the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. I finally remembered to go see what they published. As they say in New England, here ’tis!
Great Lakes
We just returned from a camping vacation in New Hampshire’s Connecticut Lakes region. Located in the northern tip of the state, Pittsburg, N.H., is a quiet town not only known for where the Connecticut River begins, but also for its abundant moose population. We just saw one moose grazing on the side of the road, but we really enjoyed the hikes, rest and relaxation.
Kate & Kevin
Last weekend I returned to Toad Hill Farm in Franconia, N.H., to photograph Kate and Kevin’s wedding ceremony and reception. Located at the foothills of the White Mountains, the farm has an amazing view of the Presidential Range. Combined with a crowd that wanted to dance the night away, it made for fun photos! Acting Out
This weekend I saw an amazing performance of Shakespeare’s Macbeth by actors who are a part of the Get Thee To The Funnery two-week camp in Chelsea, Vt. Open to teens from 12- to 19-years-old, it was incredible to see how they mastered the language in such a short time! My daughter attended for the first time and is looking forward to returning next summer.
Katie Beth & Greg
I recently returned from the Heartland, where I photographed Katie Beth and Greg’s excellent wedding and celebration in St. Louis. Bride, groom and their families were very gracious and kind to me. The weather cooperated, everyone had a good time and I enjoyed being a part of their day! More photos from the wedding can be seen on my Facebook page.
Last Chapter?
Last month, I photographed Hillary Leicher’s bookstore in Randolph, Vt., for a Valley News story about the state of local independent bookstores. Named for Leicher’s children, Bud & Bella’s Bookshop opened three years ago in the same space where Leicher’s mother owned a bookstore. They’re struggling, but I hope the store can stay in town.
From top: Hillary Leicher, owner of Bud & Bella’s Bookshop in Randolph, talks with a passer-by on Main Street before closing for the evening. Nearing the three-year anniversary of her store’s opening, Leicher is thinking about closing due to slow sales; Leicher laughs with her children Adam, 10, and Kira, 6, at the store. Reopening the store in the space where Cover to Cover Bookshop was run by her mother Jeannie Ward for 16 years, Leicher named store after her children’s nicknames.

Sarah & Harry
My friend Julie Ireland recently hired me as a second photographer for a wedding she photographed in Woodstock, Vt. The couple, Sarah and Harry, wanted to do their formal photos at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., where they both were undergraduates. It was fun to spend a couple of hours helping out!
